However google does not pick-up that I have a link going to the site from yahoo. I am only a level 1, if you have a high ranking level will your answer be crawled any quicker

Well, if you’re using the Google link: operator that isn’t the best way to determine if your Yahoo! Answers links are being indexed by Google.
If you have a Google Webmaster Tools account you can find a much more comprehensive list of the links to your site within the “Your site on the web” > “Links to your site” section.
The links are organized in a table and sorted by total links. You can click on the total link count associated with a page and see all the links that point to that page. It’s a little clunky to the web interface, but download the entire table and search through the Excel file for your Yahoo! links.
You can also run the Yahoo! Site Explorer tool on your domain. Yahoo! Site Explorer is generally accepted as a better tool for link discovery. Be sure to save your site to the Yahoo! tool – it makes it much easier to return and do your research again and again.
That is because the links in yahoo ansers are No Folow – meaning you will not get any link value from them.
