I’m enhancing, updating, and improving the SEO messages that are generated for web developers that use CSE HTML Validator. What are the most helpful things that an automated HTML validator/checker should check for with regards to helping developers optimize their pages for search engines? In other words, if you are optimizing a page for SEO, then what would you like an HTML checker to check for to make your work easier and more productive? Thank you.
1. Check for meta tag, title tag, header tags related to the page you want to optimize.
2. Check for robots.txt file.
3. Check for site architecture, that is, sitemap.
4. No frames – not seo-friendly.
5. No nested tables – pages get loaded slowly. Use CSS layout instead.
6. Compress images
7. Use Alt tags
Any many more…there are many factors to make a page seo-friendly…there are good number of tools available online…
What about having an automated ‘link suggestion’ tool so that when the page has been analysed, the validation tool either suggests
1) anchor text for linking to the page
2) additional pages related to the ‘keywords’
